You deserve to feel like yourself again. Maternal Wellness Counseling was created for women who feel stuck in their motherhood story—anxious, overwhelmed, or carrying pain from a birth or postpartum experience that didn’t go as planned.
Through EMDR Therapy for postpartum healing and perinatal trauma, my goal is to help you find peace in your story, reconnect with yourself, and move forward with more confidence and compassion.
My Approach
Healing happens when you feel safe, seen, and supported. I combine EMDR therapy with an understanding of perinatal and postpartum experiences to help you gently process what feels heavy. Together, we’ll explore the emotions, beliefs, and patterns that keep you feeling stuck—and help you release them so you can rediscover your calm and connection.
Offering EMDR in an intensive package allows us to commit personalized, intentional time designed to help you make meaningful progress in an accelerated manner.
Meet Emily
Hi, I’m Emily Combes, Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW-S) and founder of Maternal Wellness Counseling. As both a therapist and a mother, I understand how layered the postpartum season can be—how joy and exhaustion can coexist, and how hard it can feel when your reality doesn’t match what you expected. My approach is warm, evidence-based, and deeply compassionate. I’ll walk beside you as you heal, rebuild trust in yourself, and find peace in your motherhood journey.

• Focused on supporting women through the perinatal time including but not limited to: fertility journeys, trying to conceive, birth trauma, NICU experiences, postpartum anxiety and depression, “mom guilt,” and various other stuck negative beliefs of yourself as a mother
Outside of the office, you'll find me spending time with my children, DIYing a home project and listening to psychological thrillers on repeat.
Why I Do This Work
I started Maternal Wellness Counseling after my own birth and perinatal trauma. I have seen countless women struggle silently after birth or through pregnancy. Women who are feeling like they “should” be grateful but still carrying sadness, guilt, or anxiety. You don’t have to keep holding it all alone. Healing is possible, and you deserve to feel grounded, connected, and whole again.
